Reflection on Curricular Micro-teaching

Collaborating with Sahl and Manveen on the “Binomial Distribution” lesson was a valuable experience. Since I hadn’t learned Probability thoroughly before, Sahl and Manveen’s support was instrumental in helping me understand the concepts. This made me realize how beneficial collaboration can be, especially when tackling topics I feel less confident about. Working together on how to present the material—such as selecting examples, refining explanations, and evaluating prompt clarity—gave me great insights into effective teaching strategies.

Reflecting on our lesson, I think we could improve our time management by allocating time more effectively and leaving space for questions and practice. For me, engagement goes beyond activities; it’s also in the delivery. Using an actual coin to model tossing, for instance, could make the concept more tangible. Overall, I feel we did well, and I’m incredibly grateful for the collaboration with Sahl and Manveen—they are knowledgeable, organized, and communicative, which made the process enjoyable and enriching.
